Alan Krueger Bio
Alan Krueger is currently serving as the Bendheim Professor of Economics at Princeton University, and publishes extensively on the economics of education, terrorism, and various social welfare topics. Krueger has served as the Chief Economist for both the Department of Labor (under the Clinton Administration) and the Department of the Treasury (under the Obama Administration). In 2011, Krueger's appointment to chair President Obama's Council of Economic Advisers was unanimously accepted by a Senate vote.
I hadn't heard of Krueger or his work before being assigned this alias, which I suppose is a bit odd considering the amount of sway he has held in our political sphere during the last few decades. I suppose his work is useful for examining the study of the Economics of Organizations if one were to look at the nation itself as an organizational entity. However, since nations tend to operate on a macro level which firms and non-profits don't, that line of thinking may leave something to be desired.

Krueger has gotten notoriety for research in several different areas. He has done work on the effect of raising the minimum wage, where contrary to what standard economic theory argues, it doesn't lower the volume of employment as long as the increase is not too drastic. When I first did this Alias selection thing, Krueger could frequently be seen on TV during the nightly news. That's why he was selected, not because his work is relevant to our course.
